The lurid purple 2019 Gigondas Terrasses de Montmirail boasts impressive raspberry aromas, plus hints of dark chocolate, Proven?al herbs and espresso. A Grenache-based blend with small amounts of Mourvèdre and Syrah, it's full-bodied but vibrant, with supple tannins and an almost creamy mouthfeel, but also bright acids that keep the wine fresh on the finish.

The full-bodied, rich and velvety 2017 Gigondas Terrasses de Montmirail is another winner from the talented Jaume family. Hints of lavender and garrigue add intrigue to ripe black cherries and stone fruit. While approachable now with a bit of air, it has enough stuffing to cellar for a decade or so.

Lovely black cherry, plum and currant fruit has melded with subtle chalky minerality, black tea and singed juniper notes. Fine-grained and long, showing weight and finesse. Should cellar well. A full-bodied, rich and velvety wine, it comes close to being chocolaty and fudge-like without closing that border, instead delivering dark plum and cherry fruit, dusty, earthy notes and savory spice. It should drink well for a decade or more.
