This excellent Savigny-les-Beaune has a wonderful nose of red fruits with plenty of black raspberries and only a hint of toasty oak. Rich fruit on the medium-bodied palate that’s underlined by plenty of fine tannins. Lively acidity keeps this bright. From a four-hectare plot with a high percentage of limestone. Long, very elegant finish.

Intense wild herb and savory aromas on the nose lead you into the surprisingly generous palate for this appellation where the red berry fruit and licorice character is pronounced. Still very youthful and slightly drying on the palate thanks to the slightly rustic tannins, this still needs some time in bottle to reach its best drinking form. Sustainable. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières wafts from the glass with notions of rich berry fruit, cherries and plums mingled with smoke and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with fine concentration, powdery tannins and a long, perfumed finish, it's a sleeper of the vintage well worth seeking out.

Routinely one of the most underrated wines in the portfolio, this is always a sumptuous yet lively wine that ages very well.
