The 2015 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard offers up a fugitive bouquet of red berries, petroleum jelly and cedary new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, structured around fine tannins but rather short, angular and fluid on the finish.

Moving to the Pinot Noirs, the 2012 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard was completely destemmed and aged just under 7 months in 19% new French oak. Medium-bodied, straightforward and slightly weedy, with notions of menthol, underbrush and berry fruit, it’s juicy and easy going, and should be consumed over the coming year or two. Tel. A pretty, elegant and fresh effort that has loads of charm, the 2011 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard has plenty of sweet cherry, raspberry and spice to go with a medium-bodied, pure and supple feel on the palate. Cambria’s 2010 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard bursts from the glass with sweet red cherries, hard candy, flowers and spices. This is an overt, fruit-driven style with good initial energy, although the wine loses some of its persistence on the mid-palate and finish. Still, the Julia’s is a solid offering in its price range. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. I was quite taken with the wines I tasted from Cambria this year. The top selections in particular are well worth serious consideration. Tel. (888) 339-9463

The 2009 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard flows from the glass with layers of sweet candied fruit, raspberries, flowers and spices. The Julia’s is impressive for its expressive varietal character and excellent balance, both quite an achievement for a wine with a 60,000 case production.
