Partially aged in Slavonian oak, as opposed to the mostly French oak treatment with other wines in this flight, the Cascina Adelaide 2016 Barolo Pernanno shows a tad more silkiness and softness. Fruit comes from Castiglione Falletto, which tends to deliver pronounced depth and precision. Those sharp fruit contours remain the protagonist here with tart cherry, black currant and baking spice. The wine closes with linear tones of licorice and tar. I'd suggest more cellar time to get the most out of any of these 3,500 bottles.

The accessible quality of fruit makes the wine ready to drink straight out of the gate. Bottle production is limited to 2,500 units.
