Named after the original owner of some of the Cecchi family's prime vineyards, this is a touch overripe but still offers a lot of sweet, rich fruit. Heavy prune and tar aromas announce the soft, saturated black-plum flavor profile. The finish is also soft. It doesn't seem very ageworthy.——M.S.(8/1/2002)—— 86

If this wine did not have an excess of oak, it would have merited a better review. The medium ruby/garnet color is followed by spicy, earthy aromas, and excessive wood that overwhelms the earthy, cherry fruit. It is lean and austere, but pleasant. Drink it over the next 2-3 years.
