The 2020 Road Block Shiraz leads with sweetly perfumed purple fruit backed by a swell of exotic spice. In the mouth, the wine is purple and concentrated but not overt. There is restraint here. The block was planted in 1993, in pebbly, light-brown sandy loam that overlays clay, then ironstone and sandstone. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Road Block Shiraz exudes black cherries and dark chocolate notes with underlying cloves, pepper, licorice and loam suggestions. Medium to full-bodied, it has nice freshness and lovely ripe rounded tannins to support the sweet, spicy fruit, finishing with plenty of earth and savory layers.
