Delicate and charming, the 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru offers up pretty aromas of honeyed orchard fruit and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and open-knit, with succulent acids and a seamless, nicely integrated profile, it avoids some of the extremes of the domaine's grander cuvées this year.

The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru is performing well from bottle, opening in the glass with aromas of citrus confit, ripe pear, vanilla pod and spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with more structure than the Saint-Véran and with an oak-inflected finish.

A blend of multiple parcels that's bottled under nomacorc and constitutes the estate's entry-level cuvée, the 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru offers up notes of orchard fruit, verbena, pastry cream and struck match. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, satiny and elegant, with moderate concentration and a chalky finish. It's a pretty wine, but to my palate, it's well worth paying the comparatively small premium for the Domaine's grander bottlings.

The 2015 Pouilly Fuisse Tete de Cru is a blend of 40 different parcels on slate or sandy soils. There are around 20 to 25 vinifications of individual plots matured in 70% oak barrels (around one-quarter new), the remainder in stainless steel, where, in order to preserve balance, the malolactics were stopped for the cuvées aged in stainless steel tanks. The aromas gradually unfurl here with scents of white flower and hazelnut, touches of strawberry, or rather "punnet of strawberry" developing with time. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity and fine mineralité, with good salinity and a slight oiliness to the texture on the finish. I like the depth here, and while it does not possess enormous length, it has a linearity and tension that is commendable, given the warmth of the growing season.
