Pure and precise, the 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées offers up aromas of sweet red berries, peonies, vine smoke, spices and orange rind, followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless palate defined by cool fruit tones and melting tannins. Concluding with a long, mineral finish, this is a weightless, elegant Fuées from Mugnier.

Mugnier's 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées unfurls to reveal aromas of rich red berry fruit mingled with peonies, orange oil and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and perfumed, its ample core of fruit is framed by supple, melting tannins and lively acids. Concluding with a long, saline finish, like its communal counterpart, this is an elegant, vibrant wine despite the extremes of the vintage.

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées soars from the glass with aromas of raspberries and blackberries mingled with notions of peony, warm spices, orange rind and potpourri. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's rich and seamless, with a concentrated core of fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish. This is a touch more reserved out of the gates than its communal counterpart, but all the potential it showed from barrel is clearly apparent.

Aromas of raspberries, Indian spices, orange rind and rose petals preface Mugnier's 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées, a medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated wine that's rich but vibrant, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a long, lusty finish. Like its communal counterpart, it has turned out very well.

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées is superb, wafting from the glass with aromas of rose petal, raspberries, sweet forest floor and cherries. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with excellent concentration and depth at the core, balanced by juicy acids and displaying an elegant but reserved profile that will demand and reward some bottle age.
