The 2020 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Au Cros-Parantoux reveals aromas of red berries, plums, orange rind and cherries, framed by a deft application of classy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and incisive, it's more tightly wound and introverted than the Richebourg, as is usually the case. Patience in élevage and in bottle will be required, but the wine's raw materials are prodigious.

Aromas of cherries and raspberries—complemented by hints of potpourri, spice and toasty new oak—preface the 2019 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Au Cros-Parantoux, a full-bodied, layered wine that's bright and precise, with a concentrated, tightly wound core, lively acids and a long, mineral finish. It will be fascinating to compare this with Méo's Br?lées in bottle, as the two are very closely ranked today.

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux is impressive, unwinding in the glass with aromas of juicy cherries, cassis, exotic spices and smoked meats, framed by a touch of spicy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and tensile, with good concentration at the core, fine-grained but youthfully firm structuring tannins and tangy balancing acids. As usual, it's one of Méo's finest wines.
