Entre Nous, Chapoutier's joint venture with his American importer, continues to offer an attractive berry/cherry-flavored red wine. The 1996 Entre Nous may turn out to be the finest yet made. It reveals a deep ruby/purple color, and a sweet nose of earth and black cherries. Although not complex, it is mouthfilling, with smoke, olives, and berry fruit. Drink it over the next several years.

In partnership with Chapoutier's American importer, Paterno Imports, a new, inexpensive, N.V. Entre Nous Vin de Pays is being offered. Made completely from the 1995 vintage, it is a blend of Mourvedre, Carignan, Grenache, and Syrah. This is an attractive, bistro-styled wine offering plenty of gutsy, peppery, black-cherry fruit, a clean, fresh, lively palate feel, fine texture, and a supple, fruity finish.
