The 2012 Nebbiolo d'Alba Occhetti is an upfront and fruit-forward red wine that would pair with pasta dishes or informal foods. The mouthfeel is lean and streamlined, but there is enough structure and acidity to pair with cheesy or buttery foods.

The 2009 Nebbiolo d’Alba Occhetti boasts tons of weight and richness. Far from the easygoing style of Nebbiolo that is typical from this site in Monteu Roero, the Occhetti possesses tremendous depth and resonance for a wine of its level. Juicy dark berries, crushed flowers and spices wrap around the expansive finish. Readers would be well served by cellaring this for at least another year. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021.
