The 2007 XINOMAVRO DOGMATICOS is only 11.5% alcohol. It is a blanc de noir, much the same idea in that respect as the Emeros white reviewed this issue, but it is just a little crisper and more focused, with more distinctive aromatics. The winery says that it is produced from the first collected juice of Xinomavro in order to enrich the wine’s flavors. There’s an interesting nuance on the finish, perhaps a touch of spearmint. Notwithstanding the occasional distinctive touches, which may not be to everyone’s taste, it remains easygoing and laid back, not particularly penetrating. Sip it on the porch all by itself. Drink now-2010. Vaeni Naoussa is a co-op that takes a large part of the Naoussa region’s production.
