A fine example of Marlborough Pinot, the 2015 Single Vineyard Southern Clays Pinot Noir combines ripe black cherries with hints of earthy spice, cola and even a bit of mushroomy goodness. It's medium-bodied but seems rich, with plenty of ripe, silky tannins still in evidence, giving the wine shape and length on the palate, while leaving the ripe fruit to carry the finish.

At almost five years post-vintage, the 2013 Single Vineyard Southern Clays Pinot Noir is characterized by leather and cedar shadings over a core of black cherry fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, with a still-firm structure and crisp finish. In no danger of tipping over, it still should be consumed within the next few years.

Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2012 Single Vineyard Southern Clays Pinot Noir has an exuberant nose of warm cherries and crushed raspberries with a milk chocolate and spice box undercurrent. Light to medium-bodied, it gives plenty of racy acid and vibrant berry flavors supported with silky tannins and a medium-long finish.

Medium to deep ruby colored, the 2010 Single Vineyard Southern Clays Pinot Noir gives aromas of fruits of the forest compote, black forest cake and moss covered bark with hints of forest floor and fungi. Medium-bodied with a good concentration of slowly evolving red and black berry flavors and a pleasant earthy edge, it is well supported with low to medium level grainy tannins and refreshing acid, finishing with very good persistence. Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2009 Single Vineyard Southern Clays Pinot Noir is scented of ripe red cherries, black raspberries and fertile loam with hints of underbrush and mossy bark. Medium bodied, it has a good line of refreshing acid and a low to medium level of grainy tannins supporting the muscular fruit, finishing long and earthy. Drink it now to 2015.
