The 2011 Tributo Chardonnay has an oaky bouquet with a heavy perfume of coconut and almond. The palate is ripe and rounded on the entry with tropical fruit, citrus lemon and a fresh, peachy finish. It is perfectly drinkable, but just rather predictable. Drink now-2015. Caliterra is 1,087 hectare estate of which 250 hectares are dedicated to hillside plantings of vines that are farmed organically. The 2010 Tributo Chardonnay Single Vineyard was sourced from cool-climate Casablanca. Pear, apple, and baking spice aromas set the stage for a vibrant, concentrated, nicely proportioned wine with a refreshing, lengthy finish. Drink this very good value over the next 3-4 years. Melon and candied aromas are sweet, and soon some toasty oak enters the fray. Flavors of candy corn, ripe apples and mango get a boost from the oak, and overall the feel is properly zesty and not too resiny or milky. Definitely a true-blue Chilean Chardonnay with tropical sweetness, so don’t expect a facsimile of Burgundy when you twist off the screwcap.——M.S.(11/15/2008)—— 86

Heavily oaked, with pineapple and toast aromas. Very round in the mouth, and smooth, but ultimately it’s not that lively or flavorful. The apple and spice flavors kind of lay flat on the palate, while the finish is rather oak-dominant.——M.S.(10/1/2006)—— 85
