From 40+-year-old vines on gray-reddish, iron-rich slate and bottled in April this year, the 2022 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett trocken offers an intense, elegant and floral bouquet with flinty notes of crushed slate and herbal notes. Round and lush on the palate, this is a charming, filigreed and crystalline Kabinett with generous fruit texture but also fine, crystalline and saline grip. It's already almost pleasant at this early stage. 10.5% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in May 2023.

The 2018 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett trocken is bright and intense on the pure, fresh and stoney/herbal nose. On the palate, this is another light, bone-dry, pure and refreshing Riesling with grip and substance from Constantin Richter. This is a straight and quite austere Kabinett with classic freshness that is not necessarily based on perfectly ripe fruits. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.

From the Hasenl?ufer plot, the 2017 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett Trocken offers a delicate and complex bouquet with floral and herbal aromas and stony notes. On the palate, this is an elegant, seriously dry but round and persistent Juffer with salt, grip and refreshing, finely racy acidity. This is a beautifully pure but complex Kabinett that is still pretty reductive and needs another 5 to 10 years to open up. Tasted in March 2019.

From the former Hasenl?ufer vineyard, the 2016 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett Trocken was picked a bit riper than the Himmelreich and comes along more fruity and intense. Round and elegant on the palate, with a touch of sweetness and rather rustic phenols, this a classic dry Mosel Riesling with good mineral structure, finesse and racy freshness. However, this is also a rather rustic and challenging wine that was bottled with 11.5% alcohol and seven to eight grams of residual sugar.
