A blend of Shiraz (42%), Cabernet Sauvignon (32%), and Merlot (26%) the 2009 WillowBend was aged 18 months in new and older American and French hogshead barrels. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers aromas of crushed black currant, macerated blackberries and cedar with hints of underbrush, Provence herbs and lavender. Full bodied, it has a generous amount of fruit on the palate supported by crisp acid and a medium level of fine grained tannins, finishing long and pure. Drink it now to 2017.
