Boyer’s 2007 Meursault Tillets leads effusively with fresh lemon, milled grain, chalk dust, and bitter-sweet floral notes; combines lovely refreshment and citrus oil pungency with deep grain and nut richness on a creamy yet vivacious palate; and finishes with loads of primary juiciness and invigoration as well as overt chalkiness. This outstanding rendition of a widely under-rated site should be worth following for 5-6 years.
Vincent Boyer’s 2007s – all of which were bottled by the following September, and weigh in at 12.5-13% alcohol – display a diversity of personalities, but share a sense of transparency to nuance, and a consistency of quality not equaled by his 2006s.
