The 2006 TINTO is a blend of Tinta Roriz, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Castelao. It is a pretty nice effort in this vintage and a nice value. Dominated by red fruit nuances, cherries, raspberries and strawberries, this wine is aromatic and very fruity in an obvious way, maybe too obvious for some. Grapes like Alicante Bouschet and Castelao, of course, can project those intense flavors. While having neither much structure nor depth, not a surprise for wines in this price category, its intensity of flavor, for those who gravitate to its flavor profile, will be a redeeming virtue that makes this inexpensive wine a likely crowd pleaser.
