The 2004 Pinot Noir has an earthy, undergrowth, rather introverted bouquet with hints of raspberry and mulberry fruit, desiccated orange peel and marmalade just underneath. The palate is well balanced with candied orange peel, pumpkin, sunflower seeds and tertiary, almost tarry notes. It feels quite masculine towards the finish, the structure coming through, though there is some dryness on the finish suggesting this should be drunk sooner rather than later.

Big, ripe and generous, with gritty tannins around a plump core of currant and blueberry flavors, lingering well. Texture is surprising for this winery. Needs time to soften. Best from 2008 through 2014. 3,000 cases made.??–HS??Region: Oregon / Willamette Valley Select to Add
