The Beaune Clos du Roi 2011 from Nathalie Tollot has an attractive bouquet with slightly darker fruit than its peers, but there is satisfactory presence and vigor, revealing subtle scents of blackberry, raspberry and violet. The palate is medium-bodied with fine weight and extraction, the acidity nicely judged with good density on the saline finish that still retains some wood to be subsumed. Give this wine two or three years.
