The very classical 2017 Malbec Serenade was produced with fruit from a single-vineyard in Agrelo and presents abundant notes of ripe berries, sweet spices and tobacco. It feels complex and with developed aromas, open and expressive, with round and polished tannins, ripe but with freshness and without any excess. It comes from very old vines, a massal selection planted in 1935 at 1,050 meters above sea level. It has nice complexity and nuance, and with time, it even developed some citrus notes reminiscent of orange peel, denoting that freshness I mentioned. It matured in 225- and 600-liter French oak barrels for one year before it was bottled in February 2019. This is a low-yielding year with beautiful structure and good ripeness. Agrelo is a little cooler than Las Compuertas, and the wine doesn't have the structure of Alizarine. 3,952 bottles produced.

Vibrantly plush and well-spiced flavors of dark currant, soy and beef carpaccio are backed by firm acidity and tannins. Intense chocolate nib notes midpalate lead to a long and spicy finish.
