The 2009 Dolcetto d’Alba Bricco dell’Oriolo shows attractive freshness in its floral red fruits in a vinous style best enjoyed over the next year or two. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012. This is a surprisingly modest set of wines from proprietor Luigi Scavino. All of the wines are varietally correct, but over the years I have come to expect a little more excitement at this address, even among the entry-level bottlings.
