Another wine that needs to be drunk over the next several years, is the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon. This is their biggest cuvee of just over 2,800 cases. Dense plum/garnet color with notes of smoky barbecue interwoven with black currants, tobacco leaf and crushed rock, this wine is medium-bodied, round, generous and best drunk over the next 3-4 years. The brilliant Jackson family winemaker, Christopher Carpenter, is slowly but surely resurrecting La Jota. Hopefully, it will get to the level of the other wines that he produces, most notably Cardinale and Lokoya. His first efforts at La Jota are works in progress, as these were fermented by others and only the final blend done by Chris Carpenter. Tel. (707) 948-2640
