Domaine Marc Colin’s (it no longer bears Pierre Colin’s label) 2001 Batard-Montrachet explodes from the glass with flamboyant aromas of white chocolate, flowers, spices, and poached pears. Loads of buttered popcorn, ripe white fruit, and honeyed mineral flavors can be found in its plump, plush, yet precise character. This is a medium-bodied, lush wine of outstanding depth and detail.
