The 1995 Perdera (100% Monica) is a dark ruby/garnet-colored wine with a spicy, peppery, Carignan-like, gamey, earthy nose. This well-made, exuberant, gutsy, rustic, straightforward, pleasant wine cuts a clean impression on the palate. Sardinia is receiving more attention from the wine community as the result of efforts such as these from the Argiolas winery, which first bottled wines in 1989.
