The 2005 Vacqueyras Grand Garrigue displays a deeper ruby/purple color than the 2004, more intensity, greater fruit, richness, and plenty of spice box, earth, and licorice along with black cherry and some loamy soil notes. Readers have to distinguish between the negociant wines of Alain Jaume, which are under the label “Alain Jaume,” and his estate wines, which appear under the “Grand Veneur” label.
