The 1990 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Santenay 1er Cru Clos de Tavannes was showing very well, wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of black cherries, roasted plums, rich soil, espresso and game bird. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with an ample chassis of melting tannins, a solid core of ripe fruit and a long, juicy finish. It's a delicious 1990 red Burgundy from the late Gérard Potel that's drinking beautifully right now.
