The vague mineral/orange peel nose of the 1994 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrieres tastes dull compared to Les Champs-Canet. In the mouth, the wine reveals plenty of mineral notes, high acidity, and a tightly-knit, Chablis-like character. It certainly suffered in comparison to the other premier cru, Les Champs-Canet. The three offerings reviewed in this segment are only a small sample of the range of wines made by Louis Carillon and his sons.
