De Loach produced seven Zinfandels in 1995, all of which merit considerable interest. They are powerful yet accessible Zinfandels with alcohols ranging from 15% to 17.5%. Remarkably, they possess the concentration and ripe fruit necessary to conceal the alcohol - at least for the next several years. The 1995 Zinfandel Estate is an attractive, deep ruby-colored, briery, spicy, richly fruity wine with medium body and plenty of punch. Drink it over the next 2-3 years.
