The 2013 Barbera d'Alba isn't up to its usually high standards. Barbera loves warm, sunny conditions and 2013 delivered rain and cool temperatures instead. The 2011 and 2012 vintages showed kinder conditions to the grape. Luckily, this expression from Bruno Giacosa does not exhibit any green or herbal characteristics. It shows luscious cherry and dark berry nuances. The wine's acidity is in check for long aging potential. This wine may hold up to ten years.
