The 2005 Cenit is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Malbec, and 10% Petit Verdot. Opaque purple-colored, it has a splendid perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, violets, black currant, and black cherry. This is followed by a full-bodied, nearly opulent wine. Dense and ripe, it has gobs of black fruit flavors and enough tannin to evolve for 3-5 years. Drink this lengthy effort from 2012 to 2025. Caliterra’s less expensive Reserva lineup did not move me but the Tribute portfolio was excellent. Each of the wines spent 14 months in French and American oak.Importer: A.V.
