The estate's 2008 Nero di Lupo (Nero d'Avola) is a sensual, mysterious wine laced with dark fruit, tobacco, licorice, leather and spices. This, too, is another wine that manages to convey a sense of weightless richness and depth. Today it is a touch inward, but with further time in the bottle the layers of fruit should fill out nicely. Hints of leather and spices reappear on the dark finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. This is quite possibly the finest set of wines I have ever tasted from COS.
