Pear, melon, citrus and hints of white paste appear on the nose of the 2020 Crozes Hermitage Blanc Les Meysonniers. It's medium to full-bodied, clean, zesty and fresh, yet perhaps could use a bit more breadth and richness. My recollection is that the 2018 and 2019 were bigger, richer, more pleasure-giving wines at this stage of their evolution. Drink it over the next few years.

A step up from La Petite Ruche, Chapoutier's 2019 Crozes Hermitage Blanc Les Meysonniers ratchets up the intensity and complexity, adding hints of honey and crushed stone to notes of ripe melon and citrus. Medium to full-bodied, round and succulent on the palate, it finishes with mouth-coating flavors and ample length. Aged in a mix of demi-muids and stainless steel, it's a deftly balanced but opulent Marsanne that drinks well now, so why wait?

Marked by scents of marshmallow, pear and melon, the 2018 Crozes Hermitage les Meysonniers Blanc shows the generosity of the vintage in its medium to full-bodied palate and plump, generous feel. I love the way the Chapoutier whites have turned out in 2018, and this pure Marsanne is no exception.

Forty percent of the 2017 Crozes Hermitage les Meysonniers Blanc aged in demi-muids, the rest in stainless steel. As a result, the wine hints at honeyed richness, offering tangerine notes, a medium to full-bodied palate and a long, harmonious finish. Plump, round and balanced, it's a terrific effort to drink over the next 2 years.

One hundred percent Marsanne from the eastern part of the appellation, the 2016 Crozes Hermitage les Meysonniers Blanc was matured in old oak (25%) and stainless steel (75%). It's medium-bodied, structured and intense, with melon upfront and citrus on the finish.
