The 2015 Zinfandel Rockpile is medium garnet-purple colored and delivers notions of blackberry pie, dried lavender, mocha and mincemeat pie with touches of menthol and dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied and built like a brick house with firm, grainy tannins and a racy line supporting the densely packed, muscular fruit, finishing very long and very spicy. 2,000 cases produced.

Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2014 Zinfandel Rockpile offers expressive preserved plums, blueberry pie and blackberry preserves notes over hints of mincemeat, potpourri and Sichuan pepper. The full-bodied, concentrated palate offers generous black fruit preserves and peppery flavors, with a chewy frame and lively finish.

. As far as the single vineyards go, the 2013 Zinfandel Rockpile has a completely different aromatic profile, with more Mediterranean notes of lavender, Proven?al herbs, pepper and spice. It is medium-bodied and doesn’t seem to have the weight of the Old Vine, but it displays plenty of dusty terroir notes. This medium to full-bodied wine should drink nicely for 7-8 years. This is a decidedly earthy style of Zinfandel.

The 2011 Zinfandel Rockpile exhibits a lot of minerality in its distinctive, autumnal, vegetative-scented nose intermixed with composty black cherry and raspberry fruit notes. The 2010 Zinfandel Rockpile bursts from the glass with racy red raspberries, flowers, mint, cinnamon and sweet tobacco.
