Cherry, mandarin orange peel, licorice and graphite on the nose, with discreet grassy suggestions. Red berry flavor is complicated by a component of dark wet slate and lifted by fine, vibrant acidity. A mouthfilling, slightly chewy wine that avoids coming off as heavy. Finishes with silky tannins and notes of chocolate, lemon and flowers. Bottle aging will bring even more length. Drink 2008 to 2015.
