The 2010 Dolcetto d’Alba is a gorgeous wine with the trademark Altare richness, plenty of varietal character and fabulous depth. Blueberries, currants, spices and licorice stain the palate on the intense finish. Year in and year out, Altare’s Dolcetto is one of the best in the region, as it is again in 2010. The Dolcetto is often one of my favorite Altare wines. It also ages far better than most people might expect. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015.
