The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers has a very different nose to the Aux Thorey, a little more complexity here and less opulence, more black fruit here with blackberry and bilberry, a touch of dark plum. The palate is medium-bodied with a seductive, silky texture; the 60% new oak is seamlessly integrated, but this retains a killer sense of tension on the finish.
