This is the so-called "Silver Label" 2015 Barbaresco from Fontanafredda. The wine pours out of the bottle to a pretty ruby color with saturated tones of red brick and crimson. This wine shows a solid offering of Nebbiolo aromas with red fruit, wild berry, spice, licorice and tar. The aromas emerge at once in unison, and both the complexity and the intensity of the bouquet is contained. The wine offers a broad-brush-stroke approach to Barbaresco, in which you see the trees but not the leaves. It will drink nicely in the near and medium term. Some 10,000 six-bottle cases were released.

Rich and chewy in texture, this red evokes cherry, rhubarb, floral and leafy underbrush flavors. Beefy tannins rein in the finish, showing juicy acidity underneath. Best from 2022 through 2036. 15,000 cases made, 2,250 cases imported.??–BS??Region: Italy / Piedmont / Barbaresco Select to Add
