    The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is a child of the 2020 season, which was warm, early and low yielding, and the wines from the area have been decidedly structural, lushly fruited and powerful. All in all, they are excellent quality across the board, and this wine here is no exception. Dense tannins, layered with pink peppercorn, nori, blood, brine and bay leaf, were quite firm in this vintage, but with knowledge of how this wine ages, this is not a problem in the least. I've given it a conservative drinking window by decades, if stored well. Sealed under screw cap.

    Concentrated, silky and lingering, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is elegant and fine with salted licorice, ripe raspberry, dark chocolate and exotic spice. It's a beautiful wine that continues the legacy of Moss Wood Cabernets, albeit with a slightly softer, more lilting voice. Age-worthy in the supreme.

    Minty notes accent mixed red and black berries on the nose of the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. Intense cassis and raspberry flavors dominate this medium to full-bodied red, framed by ample but ripe, silky tannins and crisp acids. With its intensity and length, it seems sure to age well for up to two decades.

    Marked by notes of ripe cherries, red-skinned plums and hints of cassis, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon was being bottled the day of my visit, so I tasted it from tank. It's medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, long finish. While previous vintages showed more oak influence, this (and the 2018 and 2019) show a more nuanced touch and barely noticeable cedar and vanilla shadings.

    Marked by cocoa, mulberry and cassis, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is another terrific vintage for this benchmark Margaret River producer. It's medium to full-bodied and softly tannic, with silky-dusty notes and hints of raspberries emerging on the lingering finish. Just a wonderfully balanced example of Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing a rare combination of power, opulence, structure and elegance.
