The Puligny Montrachet Les Combettes is superb. Possessing an aromatic explosion of flowers and steely minerals, in the mouth this wine has major league sweetness of fruit studded with star anise and other spices. It provides an exciting mouthful of roasted peaches, flowers and a nice mineral component carried forth on an oily texture. Long and concentrated, this full-bodied beauty will give unbridled joy for 10-12 years. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29.
