The 2011 St. Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien was matured in 30% new oak and was again, bottled toward the end of March. The nose is reticent despite coaxing with light waxy scents - earthy notes emerging with time. The palate is nicely balanced with a fresh, citrus-driven entry. There is fine acidity here but you feel it needs to “burrow” into the terroir a little more and offer some pizzazz from what is one of St. Aubin’s finest crus.
