The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is opaque ruby-black in color. It has a very classic Cabernet nose of pencil shavings, blackcurrant fruit and bud, new leather, potting soil, herbs and soy sauce. The palate is full-bodied, dense and muscular but with great freshness to lift the long finish. This will benefit from another couple of years in bottle. 1,250 cases produced.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is scented of cedar, cigars, cassis, earth, dried herbs and chargrill. Medium to full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins, it offers a good core of pure fruit, finishing long. 1,300 cases produced.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is scented of baked cherries, black currant cordial and dark chocolate with hints of bay leaves, cedar and cloves. Full-bodied with a solid structure of firm, chewy tannins and uplifting acidity, the palate provides a great core of black berry and earth flavors, finishing long with an herbal lift.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Alexander Valley also spent 20 months in French oak prior to being bottled. One of the most opaque purple-colored wines of the entire line-up, the wine displays notes of blackberry, cassis, chocolate and espresso roast, thrilling levels of concentration, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and incredible richness and length. It is another blockbuster from St. Francis that needs 4-5 years of cellaring and should drink well for 30 or more years.

Aged 20 months in French oak, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve possesses an inky/purple color as well as gorgeous notes of blueberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, licorice, camphor and graphite. Full-bodied, youthful and primary as well as stacked and powerful, it offers sweet tannin as well as massive extract and richness. This potentially long-lived, Alexander Valley classic should evolve for 2-3 decades.
